Caliber Autism Care held its first annual art contest in November and the results were declared on December 10, 2020. The art contest was open to residents of Michigan diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, between the ages of 3 and 18 years. The contest was part of the company’s commitment to its corporate social responsibility (CSR). As stress is at an all-time high due to the pandemic and its restrictions, Caliber came up with the idea of an art contest to lift the spirits of the families & their children and act as a morale booster. The contest was intended to keep the children engaged, showcase their diverse talent, and an opportunity to win a prize.
Caliber has created space on its website to highlight and sell the artwork, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Autism Alliance of Michigan.
The contest was a great experience for the children & their families. The artworks were reviewed and judged by representatives from the Founders Society Board Member for the Flint Institute of Arts and the Wayne State University Art Therapy Department. The varied artworks received showed the vivid imagination of the youngsters with themes as diverse as portraits and outer space.
